Duties:

  • Oversee and assist in the development of the master schedules to ensure an increase in student performance outcomes,

  • Work and support teachers on the campus, especially those who instruct students who are considered at-risk and economically disadvantaged.

  • Conduct classroom observations, capture data trends of the learning environments and provide feedback

  • Participate and lead PLC conversations that include high-leverage, actionable feedback with clear models and opportunities to practice.

  • Engage in instructional reviews in order to disaggregate data to monitor the progress of all students and provide evidence-based feedback to teachers.

  • Engage in professional development opportunities that will improve student performance. 

  • Advocate for student learning and support and communicate district teaching, learning and assessment initiatives. 

  • Design and effectively implement staff development for assigned campus. 

  • Work in partnership with the teachers and principals in reflecting on lesson design, instructional techniques, and integration of technology.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with departments on the alignment and evaluation of curriculum through professional learning community (PLC) meetings.

  • Manage and coordinate meetings with lead teachers and department heads to plan, design, and implement successful instructional programs and strategies.

  • Facilitate, through the professional growth of the staff, improved student performance as measured by coursework, benchmark scores, STAAR and STAAR-EOC scores.

  • Facilitate the use of data and results to plan future units, lessons, activities, and interventions.

  • Coach and train teachers on the effective implementation of the approved district grading policy and use the Teacher Tracker function within Skyward to monitor teachers' usage of their grade book.

  • Coach and train teachers on the effective use of grading practices and strategies for intervening when students do not perform to expected standards.

  • Model and teach effective classroom management techniques which lead to improved student performance.

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of staff development programs designed to fulfill the professional growth needs of the junior high school and high school teaching staff.

  • Provide leadership in the identification, evaluation, and selection of instructional programs, resources, and equipment with regard to increased student achievement.

  • Perform T-Tess walkthroughs and observations for all subjects with an emphasis on STAAR tested subjects to raise scores. Ensure that all teachers are following all policies and procedures as it pertains to grades, lesson plans, and curriculum alignment.

  • Collaborate with the service center and the administrative team in the planning and implementation of professional development programs designed to fulfill the needs of the junior high school and high school teaching staff.

  • Monitor and review lesson plans

  • Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of the Response to Intervention (RTI) program.

  • Oversee daily operations of middle school grades 6-8

  • Enforce school policies including all attendance laws pertaining to COVID absences

  • Coordinate professional development days, professional learning communities (PLC), and staff meetings

  • Ensure the junior high operates according to school board protocols including COVID policies

  • Oversee instruction and curriculum for middle school both in-person and online

  • Plan, implement and oversee virtual learning.

  • Monitor sanitizing measures and protocols specific to addressing COVID regulations

  • Ensured compliance of the sanitizing of student hands as they entered class

  • Ensured that all desks were sanitized between each class

  • Enforced mask guidelines and sent home students who were out of compliance (ie, not covering nose)

  • Led a committee of middle school teachers and admin to review our current consequence guidelines. The discussion led to a reduction of office warnings and additional procedures for actions specifically related to virtual learning.
